Yes, the Boston Bruins are in an unenviable position, not only battling a fearsome opponent, but an entire country. Critics are saying, "Vancouver is too strong. The Bruins can't win."

So in the stupidly patriotic American-tradition, The Bruins need to whoop these chumps, Rocky-style, and teach the damn Canadians that no amount of donuts and Molson beer and untouched natural resources can compare to America's vast reserves of heart, soul, and...um, guns.
Go Bruins.

There are more American players on the Canucks then the Bruins. There are also more Canadian players on the Bruins than Canucks. Considering the best American player in the world, Ryan Kesler, plays for the Canucks, I think Vancouver winning the cup is actually a win for America. Way to go communist, rooting for Canada!
(This is in no way a defensive statement about my confused, conflicted love for a Canadian team with a Canadian mascot. Nope. Not at all. This is an honest endorsement of all things American.)

I wasn't taking it seriously, just looking superficially at the franchises and fans. My wife was in Montreal on Saturday and told to not let anyone know she was rooting for the Bruins. The Canadians (fans not players) want the Cup back in Canada, thus the facetious analogy.
I prefer to be called a "socialist," which is, um, true. But I realize for most Americans, wanting to see health coverage, adequate education, and resources for all people, as well as wealth distibution makes me a "fucking Commie." So be it.
Oh, I know, I jest as well. I'm actually glad to see the Bruins win tonight (well, theyre up 4 0 with 12 minutes to go, I assume theyll win) I really do want to see this thing go 7.
Now we can look forward to 8 minutes of ice-fighting. Lucic sticking his finger in Barrows mouth was just the tip of the iceberg. I don't the cheap shot on Horton sat well with the Bruins.
This is going to be a VERY interesting series.
